Just before meeting I went with my climbing partner Peter Juvan to Dolomite's and did a third repetition of Schirata (IX-, 235m) in Piz Ciavazes. A wonderful line established in winter 2011/12 by Manuel Stuflesser and Martin Riegler. Steep and sustained climbing on solid rock. The route is protected by some in-situ pegs and bolts. It is necessary to use nuts and camming devices. Congratulation to the first accenders, a real good job!
After a nice ending in Dolomites this season I went for my last destination to Valle dell Orco, where was the 2nd Trad climbing international meeting, organized at Ceresole Reale (Orco Valley) by Club Alpino Accademico Italiano.The meeting was attended by 35 climbers from 15 countries.
New place, wonderful atmosphere, good company, great organization, perfect weather, evening lectures, good food, lots of cracks, offwidths on excellent granite,,...There is a lot of possibilities for boulders, one pitch or multipitch routes in the Valley or in the mountains up to 500 m from 6a to 8b.
I really enjoyed there, climbed some classics with friends from Belgium, Wyoming and locals from Italy. I will definitely come back.
