In August after three weeks of intensive and really great climbing tours in the Dolomites, I was drawn to the Western Alps. Roped up together with a great climbing partner Caroline North from Germany, we set off over the Freney Pillar on Mont Blanc, following Chris Bonington's footsteps. At the end of the most difficult pitch, we looked at each other with big grins on our faces. We could hardly belive thath we had just free climbed the entire Freney Pillar (7a+, 500m+200m)!
